About Donna Kennedy
Donna Kennedy is a born and raised country girl from Wyoming. She's the mother of four home grown kids…grandma of nine…and married to the same great man for over 36 years. She has been attending CFO camps for over 30 years...being directly involved with high school youth for many of those.
Donna has been a speaker at many different clubs and organizations, including Christian Women's Club, and Women of Faith. She has also spoken in the past at Black Hills CFO Camp and several of their retreats. (Her most humbling endeavor was taking turns at the pulpit, delivering Sunday morning messages for over a year, while her hometown church was without a pastor.) Jesus becomes apparent when you become transparent.
She loves to read, write, spend time with her family...and laugh. She just finished writing a Children's book and is presently working on a book about marriage reconciliation following infidelity. (A Christian Publishing Company has picked up both books and hopes to have them on the market before Christmas of 2012.)
She believes the many trials in her life have turned her from a legalistic Phari-she…to a grace filled child of the King. Her greatest desire is to convey how to get out of the "Pharisee mindset" that has infiltrated Christianity in the United States. Her heart felt question is, "Is it by Grace that we are saved...or is it really about our works...lest every Pharisee may boast?
She is very honored to be asked to speak at Northern Michigan's Camp, and can't wait to be a part of that God is doing there.
About Joe Fick & Rachel Vreeman
CFO has played a significant role in Joe's life and family for longer than he can remember. From the children's program, to youth group, to leading and participating as an adult, God has blessed him many times over through the Biblical principles and practices of CFO. When Joe and Rachel met as undergraduate students at Cornell University, he was eager to share the blessings of CFO with her. Joe and Rachel married after college and have participated as both campers and leaders ever since. For the last 14 years, Joe has worked for InterVarsity Christian Fellowship, a para-church ministry to colleges and universities. Through his work, Joe's desire is to see the gospel transform lives, renew campuses, and, in turn, change the world. A self-described “soul cultivator,” one of Joe's greatest joys is sharing God's love with others and helping them take their next step in their journey toward Christ. Rachel is a pediatrician and researcher whose work focuses on the care of children with HIV in Africa. She spends almost half of the year working in Kenya to provide HIV treatment to thousands of children through a medical school partnership. Rachel's experiences caring for orphans and the world's forgotten families have given her a heart for justice and for serving God in the world's poorest places.
About Seth Swinson
Seth Swinson is a gifted musician and singer from Cincinnati who enjoys using his talents to the glory of Jesus. He has been an active Worship “leader”, for over a decade, leading at many camps, retreats, and churches in the greater Cincinnati area. Seth attended his first CFO in 1999. Since then he has been given the opportunity within CFO to lead in; camps, youth groups, zone and annual meetings, and at the North American youth retreats. Seth believes “Praise & Worship is a time of “ebb and flow” where we interact with the Lord, through song and voice, and the Holy Spirit within us.” His style and heart for praise & worship invites everyone to encounter the freedom and love of Christ. Currently, Seth resides in Highland Heights, Ky (just south of Cincinnati) where he studies ‘business entrepreneurship’ at Northern Kentucky University.
